About
In addition to her faculty appointments at Dell Medical School, Shahed Toossi, M.D., FNCS, is the director of the neurocritical care unit at Dell Seton Medical Center. She is also a fellow of the Neurocritical Care Society.
Toossi received a Bachelor of Arts in molecular and cellular biology and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, where she graduated magna cum laude. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California, San Francisco, then completed a residency in neurology and a subsequent fellowship in neurocritical care at the University of California, San Francisco. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both neurology and neurocritical care. Prior to joining the faculty at Dell Med, she was an assistant professor of neurocritical care in the departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was the Neurocritical Care Fellowship program director and site principal investigator on multiple clinical trials.
Toossi’s clinical passion is to provide the most evidence-based, multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art critical care to patients afflicted with life-threatening neurological conditions with the hope of improving patients’ acute and long-term outcomes. She is a dedicated educator and scholar, committed to training the next generation of neurocritical care professionals and contributing to the research advancements that will shape the future of emergency neurologic care.
