Ryan R. Johnson, MBA, CPA

Ryan Johnson joined Dell Medical School in 2023 as the inaugural chief operating officer overseeing operations of the University of Texas academic health enterprise. Clinical practice expansion through the buildout of integrated health care delivery systems as part of an academic medical center has been central to Johnson’s career experiences. Johnson’s additional interests in coupling health care economics with clinical operations to inform sustainable and efficient growth across the continuum of care have resulted in successes in both academic and community health settings.

Prior to joining Dell Med, Johnson spent 22 years at Mayo Clinic in a variety of administrative assignments at both Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and in Mayo Clinic Health System. Assignments ranged from enterprise support for the Department of Neurology to leading a community health practice as the vice chair of administration across Southwest Minnesota.

Johnson holds an MBA from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, along with a CPA in the state of Minnesota.
