Rachel B. Smith, RN

About

Rachel Smith, RN, coordinates the care of children with a range of allergic conditions participating in clinical research trials and investigator-initiated research for the Food Allergy Center at Dell Children’s Medical Group. In her role as the clinical research project manager for the Food Allergy Center, she is actively involved in all aspects of new, evidence-based research to find better treatments and therapies for children with severe food allergies that greatly impact their health and quality of life.

Smith has more than 20 years of pediatric nursing experience working in a variety of roles. Prior to her role in clinical research, she was a lead infusion nurse for the rheumatology department at Dell Children’s Medical Group and worked as a bedside and charge nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit at Dell Children’s Medical Center. Before joining Dell Children’s, Smith worked as a bedside nurse in the progressive care unit at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. Smith received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from The University of Texas at Austin.
