About

Rachel E. Mis, Ph.D., is a clinical neuropsychologist and assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. She specializes in the clinical neuropsychological assessment of adults with a broad range of neurologic conditions including Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, movement disorders and multiple sclerosis.

She earned her master’s degree in psychology and her doctorate in psychology and neuroscience from the clinical psychology program at Temple University. She completed an internship in clinical psychology at the Semel Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin.

Mis conducts research on digital technology use and everyday functioning in aging and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, with the goal of improving clinical assessment and preserving independence in daily activities for aging populations. Her research has been funded by the National Institute on Aging and other national and local organizations, and she regularly presents at regional, national and international conferences.
