About
Rachel A. High, D.O., is an assistant professor in the Department of Women’s Health.
High came to Dell Medical School as a fellowship-trained female pelvic and reconstructive surgeon with expertise in robotic and vaginal surgery from Texas A&M College of Medicine/Baylor Scott and White, where she completed a three-year fellowship. She received her medical degree at Kansas City University and completed her residency at Houston Methodist Hospital.
High’s research focuses on treatment of urinary incontinence and overactive bladder and has been published in journals such as the International Urogynecology Journal, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Journal and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has received honors and awards on the national and international levels including the Award for Excellence in FPMRS and the International Urogynecological Association Clinical Research Grant. She has presented her research on the national and international platform and has ongoing collaboration with other academic centers.
High advises and mentors medical students, residents and fellows. She is chair for the Fellows, Trainees, Early Career Professionals committee of the International Urogynecological Association and has developed educational and research resources for trainees.
High lives in Austin with her husband and enjoys wakesurfing, hiking and live music of all kinds.
