About

Rachel Alhanti, LCSW, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner at UT Health Austin Pediatric Psychiatry at Dell Children’s, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. Alhanti specializes in working with pediatric patients with mood disorders, anxiety, psychotic disorders and developmental disabilities. She also has special interest in family-centered care as well as working with patients that have experienced trauma. She blends her experience as a clinical social worker with her role as an advanced psychiatric nurse practitioner to provide holistic mental health care.

Alhanti earned a master’s in nursing at The University of Texas at Austin, where she completed the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program. She previously completed a master’s in social work at UT as well. She was a St. David’s Bilingual Scholar at UT’s Steve Hicks School of Social Work and an Integrated Behavioral Health Scholar at the UT’s School of Nursing. While completing her master’s in nursing, Alhanti was also involved in research to address racial health inequities and develop community-based wellness programs. Alhanti has a history of working in inpatient psychiatric settings and public mental health care.
