About
Michelle Magid, M.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is also president of Austin PsychCare, vice president of Austin Neuropsychiatric Clinic and an associate professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center. Magid instructs residents and medical students on personality disorders, psychiatric diagnoses and treatments and business basics for the starting physician.
Magid has been named colleague of the year and teacher of the year in addition to a Texas Monthly “Super Doctor” for the past six years. She was inducted into the American College of Psychiatrists in 2014 and has over 100 invited lectures and publications
Magid attended medical school at Boston University, where she was captain of the women’s tennis team and named an All-American. She completed her residency in psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic and her Master of Business Administration at The University of Texas at Dallas.
Upon completion of her formal training, Magid joined the staff at Ascension Seton. During her seven years with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, she served as the director of the electroconvulsive therapy unit.
Magid is currently seeing patients in private practice, where she specializes in mood and anxiety disorders and executive coaching. She continues to be involved in cutting-edge research regarding new treatments for mental health.
