Matt Russell leads strategic storytelling and engagement efforts to advance the Dell Medical School’s philanthropic objectives.

Before joining Dell Med, Russell was a communications leader for 13 years at Mayo Clinic, where he played a pivotal role in communications for a $3.76 billion fundraising campaign. His work included serving as the PBS liaison for the national premiere tour of Ken Burns’ documentary “The Mayo Clinic,” overseeing communications for key clinical initiatives and spearheading the adoption of generative artificial intelligence tools in communications.

Russell holds a B.A. from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, and an MBA from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
