About

Lynn Monnat, Ph.D., specializes in providing evidence-based therapies for traumatized youth and young children and their caregivers who are struggling with ADHD symptoms and disruptive behaviors. Monnat’s clinical focus also includes early identification and intervention for youth at risk for the development of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Monnat earned both her doctorate and master’s in school psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. She completed an internship in clinical psychology at UC Davis Children’s Hospital and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Texas Child Study Center, both focused on trauma assessment and intervention and the provision of parent-child interaction therapy. She is also trained in providing trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy for traumatized youth and their caregivers and is a PCIT International certified Level 1 Trainer.

Monnat’s research interests include treatment adherence and outcomes in evidence-based interventions, as well as early identification and intervention for youth and families at risk of developing PTSD. She has collaborated with other departments within Dell Children’s in the implementation of PTSD-risk screenings and provision of early comprehensive assessment and intervention. Monnat’s focus has also included training psychology students, interns and fellows in empirically supported treatments.
