About
Lisa Madsen, M.D., treats patients in private practice and specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychodynamic psychopharmacology in addition to her faculty position within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is also president of Madsen Psychiatry and an adjunct clinical assistant professor of medical education at Texas A&M Health Science Center.
Madsen attended medical school at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, while also gaining fluency in French. She completed residency in psychiatry at the Emory University School of Medicine where she served as chief resident of outpatient services and received awards for medical student teaching. Madsen completed the Studies in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy program through the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in Austin from 2013-2015. Madsen also serves as consulting psychiatrist for the Samaritan Center, which provides free and low cost therapy to Central Texans.
