About

Lindsey Elliott is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is also a pediatric psychologist at Dell Children’s Medical Center and Texas Child Study Center. She has a specialized interest and specific training in treating children and adolescents with somatic symptom and related disorders, including functional neurological symptom disorder.

Elliott received her undergraduate degree in psychology at the College of William and Mary. Her master’s and doctoral degrees were completed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed a pediatric psychology internship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, followed by a fellowship in pediatric psychology with a specialty in consultation-liaison at Texas Child Study Center and Dell Children’s Medical Center.

Elliott’s research has primarily been focused on somatic symptom and related disorders. She has published articles examining etiological factors related to these disorders. Additionally, she continues to be engaged in multi-site research projects aimed at providing effective treatment to individuals with FNSD. She is an active member of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Pediatric Psychology.
