About

Laura Rockman, Psy.D., is a licensed pediatric psychologist. She works with patients and families through the nephrology and inpatient consultation-liaison behavioral health teams at Dell Children’s Medical Center. She specializes in providing care to patients with various forms of kidney disease as well as their caregivers, and supports patients and caregivers during admissions to Dell Children’s.

Rockman received her B.A. in psychology from Dickinson College, an M.A. in forensic psychology from Marymount University and a doctorate in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Washington, DC. She completed her clinical internship in pediatric psychology at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and her postdoctoral fellowship at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Rockman has worked at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and recently returned to the United States after working overseas for eight years at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.

Rockman led the team of clinical neuropsychologists at Starship as practice supervisor and worked with patients undergoing brain cancer treatments. Her clinical and research interests focus on youth and caregivers coping with chronic medical conditions. She has also co-authored a systematic review exploring pain and emotional functioning in pediatric sickle cell disease.
