About

Julie Farrington, M.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is also a psychiatrist in UT Health Austin’s Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences specializing in the treatment of anxiety in adults.

Farrington received her undergraduate degree in economics from The University of Texas at Austin, went on to complete additional graduate courses in economics at Rice University and then completed neuropsychology graduate courses at University of Houston, University Park. She completed her medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Farrington then completed her internship and residency in psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center and her fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Emory University Hospital.

A psychiatrist since 1995, Farrington’s experiences include private and solo practice, serving as a psychiatrist for a women’s correctional institute and now medical director for Ascension Seton Shoal Creek Hospital. Farrington is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
