About
Jon Alford is the chief financial officer at Dell Medical School. He leads the school’s finances and budget, ensuring optimum resource allocation and stewardship; sound fiscal footing; and efficient, accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
Alford joins Dell Med with more than 20 years of experience in financial leadership at health care systems around the country, including most recently as chief financial officer for UCHealth’s metro Denver region and University of Colorado Hospital. There, he oversaw a portfolio of hospitals and operations with an excess of $3 billion in revenue, served as president of UCHealth’s ambulatory surgery centers and served as CFO of the UCHealth system pharmacy operations with an annual budget of $900 million.
Prior to UCHealth, Alford held financial leadership positions at HCA Healthcare, OU medical system, Wake Forest Baptist Health and more. He also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve for nine years with a combat deployment.
Alford holds a master’s and bachelor’s in accounting from Hendrix College, a master’s in health care delivery science from Dartmouth College and an inactive certified public accountant license. He is also a fellow within the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
