About

Jay Shapiro is a affiliate faculty for the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care. He is a graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Louis University. He also served a fellowship in scoliosis and pediatric orthopedic surgery at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery and is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society and the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America. Shapiro is married and has two sons and one daughter.
