About

Corey A. Chartan, D.O., FAAP, is boarded in both general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. In addition to his appointment at Dell Medical School, he serves as the medical director of pediatric pulmonary hypertension at Dell Children’s Medical Center. He trained in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. He completed an instructorship in pulmonary hypertension and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation where he joined the faculty and worked at Texas Children’s/Baylor College of Medicine as a clinical intensivist and pulmonary hypertension specialist.

Chartan has held leadership positions in the right ventricular failure program and was educational director of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation at Texas Children’s for the past seven years. He was recruited to Dell Children’s to create a pulmonary hypertension program and to provide the children of Central Texas and surrounding areas a top-tier program and specialized medical care for pulmonary vascular disease and right ventricular dysfunction.

Chartan’s areas of interest include patients with pulmonary vascular disease and right ventricular dysfunction as well as the role of mechanical support and surgical interventions available for patients with right heart failure.
