About

Corey A. Chartan, D.O., FAAP, is board-certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. He serves as chief of the Division of Pulmonary Hypertension and medical director of the Dell Children’s Center for Pulmonary Hypertension, with a faculty appointment at Dell Medical School.

Chartan completed his training in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital, where he also pursued advanced subspecialty training in pulmonary hypertension and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. He subsequently joined the faculty at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine as a clinical intensivist and pulmonary hypertension specialist.

During his tenure there, Chartan held leadership roles within the right ventricular failure program and served as educational director for ECMO for several years. He was later recruited to Dell Children’s Medical Center to establish a comprehensive pediatric pulmonary hypertension program, designed to deliver advanced, multidisciplinary care for children across Central Texas and surrounding regions with pulmonary vascular disease.

His clinical and research interests center on the intersection of pulmonary vascular disease and right heart failure, with a focus on the integration of mechanical circulatory support and surgical interventions to improve outcomes in children with complex cardiopulmonary disease.
