Claus Jensen, Ph.D.

Claus Torp Jensen leads Dell Medical School’s technology and data roadmap to facilitate world-class health care, research and education. He ensures that technology and data implementations provide capabilities that are state-of-the art, cohesive, secure, performant and cost-effective.

Jensen holds a master’s and doctorate in computer science from Aarhus University. Prior to joining Dell Med, he served in various health care leadership roles covering digital transformation, technology, data and artificial intelligence — most recently as chief innovation officer at Teladoc Health and chief digital and technology officer at Memorial Sloan Kettering, as well as serving as a startup advisor.

In addition to his diverse health care background, Jensen has deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions, digital transformation, data and artificial intelligence, and enterprise integration. He has led product and technology teams in all parts of health care, pursuing transformational outcomes through the combination of clinical science and technology.

A technologist turned storyteller, Jensen is the author of five “For Dummies” books on information technology and business transformation, two IBM Redbook publications and various journal papers. He has also shared his thought leadership on numerous podcasts and speaking events, and he is the holder of more than a dozen patents.

Among his many accolades, Jensen was recognized by the Inspire Leadership Network — the executive peer leadership network of chief information and chief information security officers — with the Seattle ORBIE Leadership Award in 2024 and the New York ORBIE Award in Health Care in 2022. While with Teladoc Health, he received the Zero Distance Award in 2022 and 2023 from the Business Ecosystem Alliance and the Top Innovators Award in 2022 from Modern Healthcare.

When Jensen is not solving complex problems at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and dog. They love traveling the world to experience new cultures and environments.
