About
Charlie Fraser, M.D., is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon. Fraser primarily practices in the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease at Dell Children’s Medical Center, caring for patients with congenital heart disease.
Fraser earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed a general surgery residency and a postdoctoral research fellowship in cardiac surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Additionally, he completed fellowships in cardiothoracic surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and in congenital cardiac surgery at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Fraser’s clinical interests include the surgical management of congenital heart disease in both children and adults, with particular interest in complex neonatal heart surgery, valve repair, airway disease, and aortic disease in the young.
His research interests include outcomes-based assessments following pediatric heart surgery. He is a member of The Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Additionally, Fraser has presented at national and international meetings and authored more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles as well as other commentaries and book chapters.
