About

Brenda Chao is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Women’s Health at Dell Medical School. She is in private practice in Round Rock, where she has been working since graduating from residency. She attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a major in marketing and minor in biology. She later moved to New Orleans, where she received her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine. She then completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. During her training she received several awards including Outstanding Resident, Resident Teaching Award, and first place in the TAOG Resident Research Symposium.

Chao is a strong advocate for women’s health care and chose the field of obstetrics and gynecology because of her desire to care for women throughout their transitions in life. Although she enjoys many aspects of her job, she has particular interests in family planning and patient education.
