About
Amy Durand, M.D., is a board-certified neuro-ophthalmologist in UT Health Austin’s Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of visual disorders caused by neurologic diseases, including optic nerve abnormalities (e.g., optic neuritis, ischemic optic neuropathy), visual field deficits, pupillary asymmetry, double vision and eye movement disorders.
Durand earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas A&M University. She received her medical degree from McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She completed her neurology residency at UTHealth Houston and her fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania at Scheie Eye Institute, Perelman Center and the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania.
