About
Alicia Chang, M.D., is a practicing pediatric hematologist and director of the sickle cell comprehensive program. She has a clinical and research interest in hemoglobinopathies. Chang is working to create a sickle cell pediatric to adult transition program and has established a multidisciplinary sickle cell clinic to serve the complex needs of sickle cell patients in Central Texas. She is the principal investigator on a multicenter longitudinal registry looking at the effects of Oxbryta, a novel sickle cell drug, on patient outcomes. She is also collaborating with researchers at The University of Texas to study imaging modalities for sickle cell nephropathy and thrombosis.
