About
Alexandra Wilson, M.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Dell Medical School in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care.
After graduating from Stanford Medical School, she completed her residency at Oakland Children’s Hospital and critical care fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Wilson is the clerkship director for pediatric critical care at Dell Med, as well as the pediatric intensive care unit rotation coordinator for the Pediatric and Emergency Medicine Residency programs. She has co-created several web-based teaching tools for trainees in critical care and transfusion medicine.
Wilson’s research and clinical interests include preparing trainees to communicate compassionately with patients and families. She has directed a multidisciplinary workshop in difficult conversations for residents since 2007 and taught in the Healer’s Art Elective. In addition, she is focused on enhancing patient care through research and quality improvement projects, including transfusion practice and sedation and analgesia for critically ill patients. Wilson enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and baking in her free time.
