The University of Texas Medical Center Administrative Internship

Preparing New Leaders in Health Care Administration

The University of Texas Medical Center Administrative Internship is a 10-week, full-time program designed for recent graduates and master’s students pursuing a career in health care administration.

The internship provides emerging leaders in health care administration the opportunity to contribute to the direction and growth of a rapidly expanding academic medical center anchored by the Dell Medical School, while developing the skills to succeed as a leader in the field. 

Hands-On Learning

  • Engage in project-based work aligned with interests and organizational needs.
  • Attend leadership meetings, tour facilities and meet key leaders.
  • Receive mentorship and participate in professional development activities.

Eligibility

To qualify for the UT Medical Center Summer Administrative Internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Candidates must be a recent undergraduate or graduate school graduate, or current master’s student, pursuing a career in health care administration.
  • Candidates must have completed a degree within the last 8 months (if applying as a recent graduate).
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong academic performance and relevant health care experience (e.g., internships, externships, fellowships or applicable employment) through the required application materials.
  • Candidates must show a genuine interest in health care administration through coursework, work experience or extracurricular involvement

Note: Individuals who apply for and or complete an administrative internship at UT Medical Center are neither advantaged nor disadvantaged if they later choose to apply to the administrative fellowship program or other employment opportunity.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to register and attend an information session.

Internship duration: June 1, 2026 to Aug. 7, 2026

Pay & Benefits

Interns will be paid a stipend of $10,000 for the duration of the internship.

Summer 2026 is a pilot program, and we will only accept two interns.
