About

Smrithi Mahadevan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2020 with a B.S. in public health. She began her career as a policy analyst for Texas State Senator Nathan Johnson, leading efforts to build the case for Senate Bill 117, a bipartisan Medicaid expansion proposal. She joined Mathematica in 2021 to work closer to the point of care, supporting state health initiatives focused on inclusive, community-responsive care.

Mahadevan completed her Master of Public Administration at the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service as a Bloomberg Public Service Fellow and recipient of the Jo Ivey Boufford Award for Innovation. While at Wagner, she published bioethics research under professor Lauren A. Taylor and worked with EmblemHealth on the implementation of New York City’s new PPO program.

A proud Austin native, Mahadevan is excited to return home as UT Medical Center’s second administrative fellow, where she looks forward to advancing equitable, data-driven healthcare delivery in Central Texas.
