About

Saradha Chexal, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in diseases of the retina and vitreous. She was born and raised in Boca Raton, Florida, where her passion for ophthalmology began at an early age. After graduating cum laude in three years from the University of Florida with degrees in microbiology and chemistry, she moved to New York and earned her medical degree from New York Medical College. While in medical school, Chexal started the Student Sight Savers Program — an organization designed to improve access to ophthalmological care.

She completed her residency at the University of South Florida, where she was awarded the honor of serving as chief resident. During her residency, çhexal developed a passion for retina and inherited retinal conditions. She next completed a retina fellowship at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.

Chexal specializes in the management and surgical treatment of all vitreoretinal diseases. She received additional specialized training in ocular genetics and hereditary eye conditions. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughters and son. She also enjoys playing the violin, hiking and cooking.
