<p>Samuel E. “Rhett” Long, III, MD, FACS, is a board-certified endocrine surgeon in UT Medicine’s <a href=”https://utmedicine.org/get-care/browse/clinics/cancer/surgical-oncology” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Surgical Oncology Clinic</a>. He specializes in thyroid disease and cancer, hyperparathyroidism (primary, secondary, and tertiary), and adrenal gland conditions, including primary aldosteronism, pheochromocytoma, and benign and malignant tumors. Additionally, Dr. Long is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care at The University of Texas at Austin.</p>
<p>Dr. Long earned his bachelor’s degree from Samford University and his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He completed an internship in general surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, a residency in general surgery at Dell Medical School, and a fellowship in endocrine surgery at the University of Michigan. </p>
<p>Dr. Long is an active member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society. </p>
