About
Robert Feldman, M.D., is an internationally recognized glaucoma specialist with more than three decades of experience advancing the diagnosis, treatment and understanding of glaucoma. He currently serves as a professor of Ophthalmology and Associate Chair for Research in the Department of Ophthalmology, where he leads efforts to build the missions of the academic ophthalmology program.
Prior to joining Dell Medical School, Dr. Feldman served as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at McGovern Medical School, UT Health Houston, for over a decade, later continuing as clinical professor, director of the Glaucoma Service and director of Clinical Research. He has held the Eunice Hermes Davidson Distinguished University Chair and the Ruiz Distinguished University Chair.
Dr. Feldman has trained generations of ophthalmologists through residency programs, glaucoma fellowships, national and international lectures, and hands-on surgical wet labs. He has served as an advisor to leading pharmaceutical companies including Alcon, Pfizer, Bausch + Lomb, and Santen, and co-founded 4DMD, a biotech startup focused on innovative medical devices.
