About

Megan Geloneck, M.D., specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. She earned her medical degree from McGovern Medical School in Houston, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical school honor society. Geloneck completed an internship at The Methodist Hospital in Houston followed by an ophthalmology residency at the McGovern Medical School, where she was awarded the outstanding resident of the year and best research presentation awards. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania.

Geloneck was born and raised in a small town in Texas and enjoyed many years working in the Texas Medical Center of Houston, where she was awarded the faculty of the year award by her ophthalmology residents. She is now thrilled to call Austin home. She treats all conditions of pediatric ophthalmology, including congenital cataracts, retinopathy of prematurity, nasolacrimal duct obstructions, strabismus and amblyopia, and also enjoys taking care of adults with strabismus and double vision. She has a passion for treating the underserved communities and has travelled to Mexico, Morocco and Jamaica for medical mission trips in the past with various organizations.

Geloneck enjoys adventuring outside with her husband, son and two daughters. Together, they enjoy kayaking, hiking, running and travelling. She speaks Spanish fluently and is trying to learn French. She has perfected the chocolate chip cookie and makes very good chili.
