About

Lani Hoang is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology at Dell Medical School, and she specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. Originally from Oregon, she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from University of Oregon. She received her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University and stayed on at Casey Eye Institute where she completed her ophthalmology residency. Hoang finished her subspecialty training with a pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.

After completion of her training, Hoang joined her large extended family in Texas and found her home in Austin. Together with her husband and two children, she enjoys cookouts, board games, the outdoors and, more recently, the pickleball craze.
