About

Kathryn Maier, M.D., specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. She earned her medical degree from McGovern Medical School in Houston. She then stayed at the McGovern Medical School to complete an internship in internal medicine, followed by an ophthalmology residency, where she was awarded the outstanding resident of the year. Maier then completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Maier was raised in Texas and is excited to return to her home state after most recently practicing at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She treats all conditions of pediatric ophthalmology, including congenital cataracts, nasolacrimal duct obstructions, strabismus and amblyopia. She also enjoys taking care of adults with strabismus and double vision.

She is interested in treating medically underserved underserved communities and has traveled to Panama, Costa Rica, Morocco and Guatemala for medical mission trips in the past with various organizations.
