About
Chris Wyatt, M.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care. Previously, he served as academic faculty at MetroHealth Medical Center for nine years, where he was highly involved in medical student and resident education. He grew up in southern Ohio and completed medical school and residency in Cleveland.
In the summer of 2018, he was given the opportunity to join the residency leadership as an assistant program director in Austin and jumped at the chance to be involved with such an innovative program with an amazing group of residents and faculty. The thought of not having to shovel snow ever again was also a bonus. In April 2021, he became the emergency medicine residency program director, and he has since been excited about the opportunity to grow the academic footprint of the program.
He loves to spend his free time with his fiancée who is an emergency department nurse who he met while working at Dell Seton after his move to Austin. They enjoy exploring the outdoors, the Austin food scene, vacationing in Mexico and binge-watching TV with their cat.
