About the Event
In this installment of Neurology Grand Rounds, Sara Hussain, Ph.D., presents “Personalized Noninvasive Brain Stimulation for Recovery of Hand Function After Stroke.” Hussain is an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at UT’s College of Education. She is the director for the Sensorimotor Neuroplasticity Lab.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
- Recognize the role of the corticospinal tract in hand control and upper extremity motor impairments after stroke.
- Analyze the evidence for using transcranial magnetic stimulation for improving corticospinal tract function in stroke survivors.
- Compare current transcranial magnetic stimulation interventions to upcoming approaches that account for individualized, fluctuating brain activity patterns.
