About
Alex Bilski received her B.A. in sociology from the University of California, San Diego. As an undergraduate, Bilski worked with counseling and psychological services, igniting her desire to eventually work in a therapeutic capacity. Upon graduating, Bilski worked as an Academic Advisor at UCSD.
Bilski earned a Master of Science in social work at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin. As part of her master’s program, she interned with Communities in Schools at Crockett High School and as a clinical intern with UT Athletics, behavioral health. Bilski also worked as a qualitative researcher for the Adolescent Self Harm study at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work, aiming to identify risk factors associated with racial/ethnic disparities in suicide risk among adolescent girls. Bilski also worked as a graduate assistant for TCHATT, facilitating long-term referral requests.
Bilski has an interest in mental health education, specifically in eradicating stigma surrounding mental health and making resources more accessible to communities as well as using compassionate, strengths-based, trauma-sensitive approaches to serve the needs of individuals.
