Gastroenterology & Hepatology Fellowship

Faculty members of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology gathered outside of Dell Medical School.

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is a comprehensive, three-year ACGME-accredited program designed to train competent specialists and future leaders in clinical gastroenterology. The fellowship is built on the foundation of a leading medical school, a top-tier research university and one of Central Texas’ largest hospital systems: Ascension Seton. The training in this program meets all the requirements from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

Physician wellness, happiness and professional fulfillment are key priorities across the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. This program commits to ensuring these outcomes for each fellow.

Training Facilities

Dell Seton Medical Center at UT Austin.

Dell Seton Medical Center is a 211-bed Level I trauma center and is the primary teaching hospital for Dell Medical School. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology supports multiple subspecialty services in addition to the complex medical illnesses of the diverse patient population.

Southeast Health and Wellness Center.

The Southeast Health and Wellness Center, owned and operated by Central Health and CommUnityCare Health Centers, serves all Travis County residents, including those whose income or lack of private insurance prevents access to health care. The site hosts a number of training programs and includes specialty outpatient services related to gastroenterology.
