Gastroenterology & Hepatology Fellowship

Delivering Focused Training in Clinical Gastroenterology

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is a comprehensive, three-year Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited program designed to train competent specialists and future leaders in clinical gastroenterology. The fellowship is built on the foundation of a leading medical school, a top-tier research university and one of Central Texas’ largest hospital systems: Ascension Seton.

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology prioritizes physician wellness, happiness and professional fulfillment and commits to ensuring these outcomes for each fellow in the program. The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship is affiliated with Dell Med’s Department of Internal Medicine. Learn more in a welcome letter from the program director and through recent publications by core gastroenterology faculty.

Training Facilities

Dell Seton Medical Center at UT Austin.

Dell Seton Medical Center is a 211-bed Level I trauma center and is the primary teaching hospital for Dell Medical School. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology supports multiple subspecialty services in addition to the complex medical illnesses of the diverse patient population.

Health Transformation Building.

A clinical partnership between UT Health Austin and Ascension Seton, Digestive Health provides comprehensive care for general gastroenterology, IBD and disorders of the liver, pancreas and esophagus. In the clinic, gastroenterologists work together with surgeons, dietitians, social workers and advance practice providers to provide multidisciplinary, one-stop care, which includes fluoroscopic imaging, fibroscan, esophageal manometry and pH studies.
