About
Swati Avashia, M.D., FAAP, FACP, is an associate professor in the Department of Population Health and a courtesy associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and Department of Pediatrics. She has served as teaching faculty in the Family Medicine Residency since 2009, has been faculty in the Developing Outstanding Clinical Skills Course for medical students since 2018 and is an affiliate faculty member in the Global Health.
Avashia’s clinical roles include pediatric lead physician and attending physician at the family medicine residency clinic at Southeast Health and Wellness Center as well as inpatient attending at Dell Seton Medical Center and Dell Children’s Medical Center. Her academic responsibilities include providing formal instruction and curriculum development in pediatrics and adolescent medicine, promoting resident participation in scholarly projects and bringing experiences in arts, humanities and socially conscious patient care to resident education.
In her free time, Avashia enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, traveling and crafts.
