About
Robert C. Neely, M.D., is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care.
Neely is originally from San Francisco, California, and earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. He completed his cardiothoracic surgery residency at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. He completed a research fellowship in surgical outcomes at The Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He joined Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons in 2017 and is board-certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Neely specializes in adult cardiac and thoracic surgery with a special focus on adult acquired valvular heart disease, minimally invasive mitral and aortic valve operations, including transcatheter aortic and mitral valve therapies.
He is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society. He has published numerous peer-reviewed research papers and chapters in the field of cardiothoracic surgery.
