Elizabeth Blankenship, PA-C, FHM

Elizabeth Blankenship, PA-C, FHM, is a physician assistant hospitalist in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Dell Medical School. She has worked in the health care industry for over 20 years and is passionate about quality improvement, education and interprofessional collaboration. She leads the development of the orthopaedic and urology co-management service line with a focus on patient centered care, team communication and best practices.

Blankenship represents Dell Med as a cohort leader in UT Austin’s Foundations of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice course. She also precepts McCombs School of Business students during their Business of Healthcare undergraduate certificate course. Additionally, she precepts and mentors Advanced Practice Providers students, incorporating Interprofessional collaborative practice teaching foundations into their curriculum.

As a champion of health care informatics, she works closely with Ascension Seton information systems partners to improve aspects of the electronic health record and reviews potential applications and software . She also spearheads the use of secure texting applications to improve patient care and team communication.

Before becoming a physician assistant, Blankenship worked as an X-ray and CT scan technologist. She enjoys adventures with her husband, her two sons and her cat.
