About

Elizabeth Blankenship, PA-C, FHM, is a part-time physician assistant hospitalist in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Dell Medical School. With over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, she is deeply committed to advancing quality improvement, education, and interprofessional collaboration.

While at Dell Medical School, Blankenship led the design and implementation of several co-management surgical service lines, emphasizing patient-centered care, effective team communication, and evidence-based best practices. A passionate educator, she has served as a preceptor and mentor to numerous advanced practice provider students, integrating interprofessional practice principles into their training.

She also served as a cohort leader for UT Austin’s Foundations of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice course and has precepted students from the McCombs School of Business through the Business of Healthcare undergraduate certificate program.

A champion of healthcare informatics, Blankenship has played a key role in enhancing the design, usability, and deployment of electronic health records and clinical applications at Ascension.

She currently serves as the Director of Quality and Care Model Design at Central Health, where she leads initiatives to improve care coordination, outcomes, and health equity across the Austin community.
