About

Claire R. Selinger, M.D., is passionate about caring for underserved children and their families. She came back home after training in California to deliver comprehensive and compassionate mental health care to children and adolescents of her native Texas.

She works at Integral Care, a nonprofit Local Mental Health Authority, on behalf of the medical school. There, she provides evidence-based treatment to children and adolescents in Travis County and works to expand care via school-based integrated services. She also participates in SB 11 initiatives CPAN and TCHATT to provide clinical care to children and adolescents regardless of their proximity to the medical school through telemedicine services. She also supports pediatric providers in managing mental health issues in their clinics across the greater Austin region.

Selinger is from Galveston, Texas. She attended Rice University, where she majored in art history and policy studies in health in 2008. She received her medical degree from The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio in 2012. She trained at Stanford University hospital and clinics for general adult psychiatry residency training. She trained at Stanford University hospital and clinics for her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. While in training, she gained advanced expertise in perinatal psychiatry, interdisciplinary education, telepsychiatry and trainee education.
