Carolyn Miles serves as the Director of Development for the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes (LCI) at Dell Medical School. She is collaborating with the Chair of LCI to raise an additional $50 million to bolster the LIVESTRONG Foundation’s $50 million gift to Dell Medical School in hopes of realizing the $100 million vision to create a new patient-centered cancer care model through the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes.

“We are excited that with the national scope and reputation of our partner, the LIVESTRONG Foundation, and the Dell Medical School’s intellectual firepower, we will lead the way in finding new models to sustainably solve fundamental issues for cancer patients and survivors,” says Carolyn.

Prior to joining Dell Medical School, Carolyn served as the head of development at the LBJ School of Public Affairs for nearly five years. She has also worked at the McCombs School of Business, where she oversaw the corporate and foundation relations team. Before coming to UT, Carolyn developed market research for a company, Public Strategies, which measured the public perceptions of Fortune 500 companies. In her early career after graduate school, Carolyn worked as an energy consultant for the former Soviet Union at Cambridge Energy Research Associates.

Carolyn holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University and a bachelor of arts degree with a certificate in Russian and East Europe Studies from Indiana University at Bloomington.

In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys jogging on the trail around Lady Bird Lake and exploring the nearby state parks.
