About the Event
You decide to start a company and are lucky enough to find investors to fund your venture. You then receive a term sheet — wait, what? It feels like you are reading another language. Help!
During this installment of the Texas Health CoLab Learning Series, we will explore the mechanics of term sheets, covering the basics and some key issues such as:
• What is the difference between pre-money and post-money valuation?
• Option pools. Time for a swim?
• What is a liquidation preference, and why does it matter?
• The cumulative dividend trap;
• The realities of valuations for startups;
• Anti-dilution preferences (what could go wrong?).
