About the Event

The Health Transformation Research Institute’s The Nuts and Bolts of Executing a Clinical or Population Research Study series consists of one-hour forums focusing on topics related to the execution of clinical and population research. The target audience is faculty and staff involved in clinical and/or population research.

In this installment, Brooke Lasher presents “Working Parts of Clinical Trials.” Lasher is an associate director in the Department of Women’s Health at Dell Medical School.

Register to attend via Zoom.

Attendees are encouraged to review discussion materials beforehand and ask the presenter questions. Many of the materials to be reviewed prior to the sessions are part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) “Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research” online course. The NIH materials are free, but registration is required to access them.

To access materials from the NIH course:

  1. Go to the course website.
  2. Click on the registration tab and use one of the following methods.
    1. Option 1: Registered Course
      1. Go to the  Office of Clinical Research Learning Management System portal.
      2. Click on “Create Your OCR Course Account” and fill out the registration form. You will receive an automated email to verify your email address to create new login credentials.
      3. Log in to the OCR LMS Portal.
      4. Click on the “Enroll in Course” button next to the IPPCR course listing. The course will be added to your OCR LMS account page and will appear under “My Active Courses” or on the “My Courses” tab of your account.
    2. Option 2: Non-Registered Course
      1. Scroll down to “Non-Registered Lecture Option” and search for IPPCR individual course lectures related to the current Nuts and Bolts session or IPPCR syllabus via NIH YouTube Playlist or NIH VideoCast. This is the best option for participants only wanting to focus on a portion of the IPPCR course material rather than full course.
