In this installment of the In Conversation discussion series, Dell Med business affairs leaders share experiences and field questions from the audience related to key aspects of research funds flow at Dell Med.

Panelists will discuss topics related to:

  • How is research paid for at medical schools?
  • General insights into Dell Med’s financial model and funding sources for research.
  • How funds from Dell Med grants and awards move across the research enterprise at the time of award, including how the process may facilitate or inhibit research productivity and external factors that can impact the business of academic medical research.
  • Financial considerations for principal investigators (PIs) managing NIH and other sponsored projects budgets and how they impact management of hiring and operational costs.
  • Common financial compliance issues for NIH and other types of grants and awards.
  • Key financial resources for PIs to be aware of at Dell Med and UT.
