About the Event

In this installment of the In Conversation discussion series, Steve Roach, M.D., and Adewole Adamson, M.D., MPP, share their experiences and provide insight on the nuances and key considerations when navigating academic publishing.

Roach is a professor and an associate chair for clinical integration and operations for the Department of Neurology at Dell Medical School. Adamson is an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Dell Med.

  • Understanding the publishing landscape: Differences between high-impact, open-access and specialty journals as well as key factors to consider when selecting which entity to select for submission.
  • Tips for translating abstracts to papers: Ideas to get your work over the finish line and leverage your network when you aren’t sure how to move forward.
  • The submission process: How to align your area of interest with the journal foci and more.
