About the Event

In this month’s Diabetes Monthly Seminar, Cecilia Barrios Espinosa — Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla — and Marissa Burgermaster — Dell Medical School — focus on the intersection between diabetes and nutrition. Espinosa and Burgermaster will discuss the health of vulnerable populations as it relates to diabetes being one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in Texas and Mexico.

Se hace la invitación al segundo seminario sobre diabetes, Diabetes y Nutrición, presentado por la Universidad de Texas en Austin y la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) en Puebla, México, para mejorar la salud de poblaciones vulnerables de ambos países. La diabetes es una de las principales causas de morbilidad y mortalidad en Texas y México y fue identificada como la principal prioridad de salud por las comunidades rurales que rodean la ciudad de Puebla, México.

Para estes evento, las Dras. Cecilia Barrios Espinosa (BUAP) y Marissa Burgermaster (Dell Medical School/Departamento de Nutrición) se enfocarán en la relación entre la diabetes y la nutrición.
