Our goal is to train outstanding clinical neurologists with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to meet the evolving clinical environment of the 21st century. This includes fostering team-based approaches to patient care and fully integrating opportunities for residents to conduct clinical research.

The Neurology Residency Program is affiliated with the Department of Neurology.

Chief Residents

Walter Andres Camargo Jordan, M.D.

Training Facilities

Our training facilities include the new Dell Seton Medical Center teaching hospital, UT Health Austin and multiple outpatient sites for outpatient adult neurology, pediatric neurology and psychiatry rotations.

Our primary inpatient teaching facility is the new Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas operated by Seton Healthcare Family. The modern 211-bed hospital includes a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a level 4 epilepsy monitoring unit with six beds. It will soon have Austin’s first Neurological Intensive Care Unit. It is the referral hub for the evaluation and management of urgent and emergent neurological conditions.

A full range of practitioners and support staff from multiple disciplines come together around each patient to provide care that is integrated, evidence-based and systematically tracked for quality improvement.
