About

Tori Shepard, M.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Population Health. She joined the teaching faculty in the Family Medicine Residency in 2020.

Originally from Tyler, Texas, Shepard first got a degree in geography at the University of California and completed her service in the U.S. Peace Corps in Kenya before starting her medical career. After medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch, Shepard completed her training in family medicine at John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth, where she was elected chief resident by her peers. She completed her fellowship in geriatrics at The University of Texas Medical Branch. Her interests include palliative care in the primary care setting, hospital medicine and innovations in health care delivery.

Outside of health care, Shepard enjoys traveling with her teardrop trailer, shopping at Goodwill outlet stores and sewing.
