Sarah Vij, M.D.

About

Sarah Vij, M.D., is a board-certified urologist in UT Health Austin’s Urology Clinic. She specializes in male infertility, male sexual health, vasectomy reversal, testicular pain and other urologic disorders.

Vij earned her bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Amherst College and her medical degree with distinction in research from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed an internship in general surgery at Cleveland Clinic and a residency in urology at the Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute at Cleveland Clinic, where she served as chief resident and was awarded the prestigious Crile Traveling Fellowship Award, presented to a surgical resident who demonstrates exceptional clinical and research excellence. She also completed a fellowship in male infertility and andrology at Cleveland Clinic.

Vij formerly served as the center director for male fertility at Cleveland Clinic, program director of Cleaveland Clinic’s Male Infertility and Andrology Fellowship, and associate program director of Cleveland Clinic’s Urology Residency Program. Her research focuses on vasectomy access and male infertility therapies. She holds a grant from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to advance the understanding of fertility in male patients with cystic fibrosis. Vij also served as the principal investigator for an experimental clinical program on fertility preservation in prepubertal male cancer patients at Cleveland Clinic for several years.

Vij has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications. She currently serves as a member-at-large for the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction and as a member of the Guideline Committee on Vasectomy and Vasectomy Reversal for the American Urological Association. She is also an active member of the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
