Saleema Kherani-Ali, M.D., MPH

Saleema Kherani-Ali, MD, MPH, is a board-certified ophthalmologist in UT Medicine’s Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute. She specializes in adult and pediatric uveitis, cataracts, and anterior segment disorders of the eye. Additionally, Dr. Kherani is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Kherani-Ali earned her medical degree from Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan and her master’s degree in public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, a fellowship in uveitis and ocular immunology at Northwestern University, and a postdoctoral research fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Kherani-Ali’s research focuses on the outcomes of various treatments for ocular inflammation. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and presented at national and international conferences.
