Nicholas Yagoda, M.D.

About

Nicholas Yagoda, M.D., joined CommUnityCare Health Centers in 2014 and practices general family medicine, with a focus on HIV and addiction medicine. Since 2016, Yagoda has been an integral part of the leadership team at CommUnityCare Health Centers in various roles, including director of primary care, associate chief medical officer and as of June 2021, chief medical officer — where he leads the development of innovative, equitable, high performing ambulatory health care service delivery for the most vulnerable populations.

Yagoda is also a faculty member in Dell Medical School’s Department of Population Health. His writing has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including The Annals of Family Medicine, The Journal of Family Practice, and Nature. He is the recipient of Travis County Medical Society’s 2018 Ruth M. Bain Young Physician Award.

He is from Brooklyn, New York, and he completed his medical education at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, and his postgraduate training at the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency in Massachusetts. Yagoda has built a career fiercely committed to the care and well-being of the vulnerable and underserved.
