About
Nicholas Yagoda, M.D., AAHIVS, CPE, FAAFP, joined CommUnityCare Health Centers in 2014 and practices general family medicine, with a focus on HIV and addiction medicine. Since 2016, Yagoda has been an integral part of the leadership team at CommUnityCare Health Centers in various roles, including director of primary care, chief medical officer and, as of May 2025, chief executive officer. He brings more than a decade of experience in clinical care and community health leadership, with a focus on advancing health equity through collaboration, innovation and accountability.
Yagoda is also a faculty member in Dell Medical School’s Department of Population Health. His writing has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Annals of Family Medicine, The Journal of Family Practice, and Nature. He is the recipient of Travis County Medical Society’s 2018 Ruth M. Bain Young Physician Award.
He is from Brooklyn, New York, and he completed his medical education at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, and his postgraduate training at the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency in Massachusetts. Yagoda has built a career fiercely committed to the care and well-being of the vulnerable and underserved.
