About

Knowles is a affiliate faculty at the Department of Women’s Health. A specialist in gynecologic oncology, she currently practices at Texas Oncology. She completed her medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Ohio State University Medical Center and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology. She is a member of the Travis County Medical Society, The Texas Medical Association, the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, the American Society of Clinical Oncologists and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Knowles has a special interest in ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, minimally invasive surgery for cancer and fertility-preserving procedures. Her work has been published in high-impact journals such as the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Journal of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology and the Journal of Reproductive Medicine. In addition to co-authoring chapters for textbooks, she has been invited to present posters, abstracts and lectures on both the regional, national and international level.

She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and children and on her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking and skiing.
